Villa Monte Solare olive oil has been awarded the 3rd place by UMAO in the “Vallata d’Oro” contest.

In the province of Perugia an annual event takes place, the ‘Golden Valley’, which recognises and rewards the creators of the best extra virgin olive oils in the Umbrian hills.

A delegation from the U.M.A.O. (Mediterranean Union of Oil Tasters) judges the quality of the product on the basis of classical sensory expectations – taste, smell, look and feel.

The event takes place in a region with a long history of olive oil production, along with complementary businesses such as nurseries, glassware and graphics companies. The event hosts important seminars, where distinguished engineers discuss renewal on culture and the use of oil in recent years.

Around forty participants including large and experienced manufacturers take part in the annual oil contest. Sherwood Green was ranked third for the quality of the oil it produces alongside the Villa Monte Solare.
